Rob was born in the small town of Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. He was always surrounded by music. Thomas, his grandfather, played a home made fiddle and held kitchen jam parties on a regular basis. It was here that Rob, at a very young age, developed his ear for music.
Then Rob moved to Ottawa, and at the age of nine, attended the Royal Canadian Conservatory. While performing for the Conservatory, he won 1st prize for his age group at the Quebec/Ontario music festival.
Rob returned to Renfrew in his teenage years and continued studying guitar. He then started his own band. While continuing his guitar instruction, his teacher realized how advanced Rob was and asked him to play lead guitar for his band. Rob is seen in the picture below performing live in Renfrew with his teacher. Rob has always enjoyed playing all genres of music.

Rob soon joined his friends in creating his first Rock Band. When local complaints about the loud music came to a head, a local newspaper reporter showed up at one of the band’s practices. After listening to the band, the reporter gave them good press which resulted in the band, ROX, being contacted by a manager. They were then playing at larger venues.

During his adult years, Rob was employed in the High Tech. Industry and took a break from music to devote more time to his family life. A number of years later, after seeing old band members performing, he realized how much he missed the music scene. It was then that he decided to put a band together.
The band, BAD INFLUENCE, played from Pembroke to the Montreal area. The band played for a number of years at various venues, but went their separate ways in 1997.
Rob continued playing solo and performed as a guest for local benefits. After the death of his good friend Lynn, Rob has raised money for the fight against Cancer.
These days Rob often performs with Whiskey Mike or Kathleen Stroud. Kathleen's harmony vocals were a part of the CD "The One".
